Obamacare web crashes continue to make national news, but Covered California seems to be reliably online and in business. More than 600,000 unique visits were logged on its web site the week ending Oct. 12, the second week of operation for the state health insurance exchange. Health centers funded for sign-ups

California community health centers are eligible for almost $22 million in federal funding to help them sign up the uninsured under the Affordable Care Act. The 125 health clinics that provide primary care at about 1,200 sites could collectively hire more than 400 workers to sign up people needing insurance via the state exchange, Covered California. Facing a veto threat from the White House, House Republicans have backed off on a plan to reinstate enrollments in a program providing health insurance for people with pre-existing conditions.
